WRA Social Committee's
'In Two'
Dear Fellow WRA Rowers,
At last, the long awaited “In Two” for Summer 2026, which
we will call “In Two, July/August” so that we don’t miss July
entirely! Thanks for your patience, everyone, as we, here at
the Social Committee, get ourselves back in position to tell
you what’s what for WRA this Summer.
First, Welcome to all our New Rowers! We have an
unprecedented number of Masters Learn to Row students
keeping Head Coach Owen maximally sleep deprived.
Between the May/June and July/August sessions, we have
had 80 new rowers come through our Boathouse. The Ju-
niors Summer program is also thriving, with 14 new Juniors
attending. This is amazing growth, everyone! We may be
able to afford that new dock yet!
New Rowers, we are thrilled to have you. Here are a few
things we’d like to make sure you know about WRA. As a
LTR rower, you are welcome at our social gatherings and
will receive our newsletters keeping you informed. Mas-
ters, if you are in your second session of LTR, you will be
offered a mentor as your more experienced contact person
so you are able to ask more in-depth questions and get in-
creasingly connected within our community. Our goal is to
give you as full an impression as possible of your potential
within our crew, both on and off the water, so that you can
make an informed decision about membership once you
reach the end of LTR.
After 2-3 sessions of LTR (depending on numerous factors
both personal and collective), you will be asked to join as
a Masters Rower and take out membership. To continue
rowing with us, you’ll need to pay annual membership in
addition to class charges (which have reduced rates for
members). There are bundling options. Class timing may
vary slightly depending on the season but generally we have
classes for experienced Masters MWF in the early morning
(~ 5:30am) and mid-morning (~8am), and T/Th evenings
(~6:30pm). Eligibility for classes is at coach discretion.
